What is the Foundations Program?
Foundations is a comprehensive, eight-subject Islamic studies curriculum designed to equip high school students with a strong theoretical and spiritual foundation in Islam. By integrating traditional Islamic knowledge with contemporary issues, Foundations aims to equip students with a robust understanding of their faith and the tools to navigate modern challenges. The curriculum is designed to foster a deep connection with Islamic teachings, promote critical thinking, and address common misconceptions about Islam in today’s world.

Course Description:
This course explores Islamic teachings on gender, family, social relationships, and equity. It highlights the balance and wisdom of Islam when it comes to the rights of both genders, and how it brings harmony to the basic building blocks of the society. Students will learn to understand the concept of justice from an Islamic perspective that is based on the divine guidance of the Quran and Sunnah, contrasting it with secular conceptions where the idea of a transcendent Allah is absent. The course emphasizes that true justice is about complying with Allah's command and guaranteeing equal opportunities for salvation, while equity recognizes the differences in people's talents, skills, and individual needs.
